Trekking to see the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda is an unforgettable experience.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali:
Arrive at Kigali International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kigali. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore Kigali city and visit some of its famous landmarks like the Genocide Memorial Centre or the Kimironko Market.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will be driven to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northwest of Rwanda. The drive takes around 2.5-3 hours. Check into your lodge and relax for the rest of the day in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcano national park
Wake up early and have breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You’ll then be assigned a gorilla family to trek, and a park ranger will guide you through the forest to find the gorillas. Once you locate them, you’ll have one hour to observe and take photos of the gorillas. Afterward, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking or Cultural Experience
On this day, you have two options. You can either go for golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park, or take part in a cultural experience in the nearby villages, where you’ll learn about the Rwandan way of life, visit local markets, and try traditional Rwandan cuisine.
Day 5: Arrival in Uganda – jinja
We will drive to Jinja via Mukono. Visit the Ssezibwa Falls. Birding while there and continue through Mabira forest proceed to Jinja past the Owen falls Dam and visit the source of the Mighty River Nile. explore the town’s markets and visit the Jinja Sailing Club for a sunset drink by the lake.

Day 6: Water Rafting and transfer to Kampala

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe back to airport
Kampala is the capital city of Uganda and offers a mix of cultural, historical, and modern attractions. Start your day with a visit to the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the burial site of the kings of Buganda. Next, head to the Uganda Museum to learn about the country’s history and culture. In the afternoon, visit the Ndere Cultural Centre for a traditional dance performance,
Next, head to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens for a relaxing walk through the gardens and a chance to see some of the local bird species. In the afternoon, visit one of the town’s beaches, such as Lido Beach, for a swim in Lake Victoria and a chance to relax and soak up the sun. later transfer back to your country
Overall, 7 days in Rwanda and Uganda will give you a chance to experience some of Uganda and Rwanda top attractions, from its stunning scenery and outdoor activities to its rich cultural heritage and native wildlife.
