3DAYS TO VISIT AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Day 1: Arrival and Game Drive

 

• Arrive at Kigali International Airport and travel to Akagera National Park. The park is located in the eastern part of Rwanda and can be reached by road or air.
• Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation within or near the park.

• Start your exploration with an afternoon game drive in Akagera. The park is known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and various bird species.
• Enjoy the scenic beauty of the park and keep your eyes open for sightings of the iconic animals.

Day 2: Boat Safari and Guided Nature Walk

• Begin your day with a boat safari on Lake Ihema, one of the largest lakes in Rwanda and situated within Akagera National Park. The boat safari provides an excellent opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other aquatic wildlife.
• After the boat safari, embark on a guided nature walk. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, explore the park’s diverse ecosystems, observe smaller wildlife, and learn about the flora and fauna of Akagera.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic spot within the park, surrounded by nature.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure

 

Start early with a morning game drive, as this is the best time to spot predators and witness the park’s wildlife in action.

• Explore different areas of Akagera National Park that you may not have visited on the previous day, maximizing your chances of encountering a wide range of animals.
• After the game drive, return to your accommodation for breakfast and check-out.
• Depart from Akagera National Park and head back to Kigali
