Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park

Start your day early with a game drive to see the park’s wildlife. Some of the animals you might see include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffalos.

Take a boat ride on Lake Ihema to see hippos and crocodiles.        Have a picnic lunch at one of the park’s designated picnic sites. Take another game drive in the afternoon, as animals tend to be more active during this time.

End your day with a sundowner at one of the park’s scenic spots.

Day 2: Transfer to Bird watching

Start your day with a guided nature walk to see some of the smaller creatures in the park, including birds, insects, and reptiles.

Visit the park’s cultural village to learn about the local culture and way of life.

Have lunch at one of the park’s lodges or campsites.

Take a game drive in the afternoon to see any animals you might have missed the day before.

End your trip with a visit to the Mutumba Hills viewpoint for a stunning view of the park and the surrounding landscape.
